It's been a long time since I blog ... Have been busy with business, work, family etc etc. At last, i got the chance to blog tonite.

There's just too much to update and impossible to do so. Hope u understand. 

It's a double Family Bonanza today !

Today's cloudy, but, our strong urge of celebrating double family day killed the damp spirit to laze at home. Arab loves to laze at home especially on rainy days, but today, he cant escape. HAHAHA !

Left home at about 3pm and it was drizzling. Went straight to Themepark to meet Wawan & Nita's family. Upon reaching, I took the opportunity to sign up the 6-months family pass as the Themepark is closed due to the drizzle. Yeah, we have unlimited entry till December. It's a great deal, only $40 and I dont have to come out any single cent ! Want to know the secret ?

Arab was smart. He suggested that we keep all our goodie bags (5 bags!) in a locker so that we dont have to worry about minding our belongings while we play. Since Wawan & Nita will be late, we started to play around and took part in the games stalls. It was fun. But I felt something is missing. Yes, my boy, ALIFF, is not present. He went to the Stadium to watch the NDP preview for P5 students.  Met a few colleagues & catch up for a while. When Wawan came, he took over to mind the kids and bring them to play the kids ride. Arab & me try on the adult rides. Fuyoh ! It was fun (but actually I shut my eyes in most of the rides). Had dinner & we continue playing until about 6+. Still no sign of Nita. Bubble Bubble ! I pity her kids cos I promised to bring them.

Proceed to Pasir Ris Park, which is just next door to join my aunt & granny for our own family gathering. Had fun chatting & catching up old times. Food was damn nice cos all were homemade by Chef Huna, including the satay ! I skew the satay while the rest bbq the food. Younger kids played 'bunga api', while the older ones played football. Unfortunately, we have to leave early cos everyone are tired.

Come July, it will be a Family Day month. Most of the Saturdays has been filled with family activities.

Went to Temasek Pri "Colors of Life" yesterday. Aliff & Nabila were given free coupons, syukur Alhamdulillah (others have to pay $5 per booklet). Initially we didnt plan to go, but this time I make a point to attend. It's a gesture of saying thanks to the Principal. Furthermore, I want to orientate Aqil who will be attending the same school next year.

I'm surprised that "Colors of Life" was actually a large-scaled activity. Almost all parts of the school are utilised. The main activity was held at the school hall where exhibits of the old Singapore & other stage shows were portrayed. There were also traditional foods from all the 4 races of Singaporeans. The gigantic field was occupied by SingTel. Jimmy Neutron & Nickelodeon were the kids main attraction. Arab bought a small plant. We were glad that Nabila's project was displayed, as it was a whole-family effort and we were given only a few hours to complete the task.

By 1pm, everyone is tired. Home sweet home !

Marine Drive View Family Day !

I have always wondered what's the most 'satisfying' thing to do with those unwanted and yet very nice stuff. Especially with my bad habit of impulse buying . I knew today will be a fun-packed day cos its the Marine Drive View Family Day. Its the 1st time they're holding it so that residents can get-to-know our new MP. Got to know about their flea market thingy from the notice & flyers, so I thought, "hmmm why not ?".  We started to set-up our stall after 1pm although the whole event supposed to start at 4pm. And as usual, living in this 'K' society, there's crowd as early as 2pm and by 4pm half of our stuffs are gone! It was fun getting to know the rest of the stallholders - some were commercial & some were like me, just wanted to sell-off our things & have fun. There's games stalls too and the most attractive was the Guppy catching corner. As usual, Arab gets hooked to this stall until he actually helped other kids to fish the guppies (which is actually opened to those below 12 years old). The 3 jewels managed to catch some - but the moment we place them in our discus & catfish tank, the latter gulp it all down till its stomach is really bloated! At the end of the day, we only have 2 items left - not bad huh.

Later, Nita came with Qyairul & Eddie to collect her orders. Qyairul is hooked to my 'epok-epok telur'. 

Cant sleep at nite cos feeling hungry. Went to Duku Rd - our usual nitespot for prata & teh tarik. On the way back, Arab played a 'prank' on the neighbours when he hailed "Karipap" along the corridor! Mana ada orang jual karipap, subuh2 hari ?

Arab successfully ended his ICT today. Guess what he brought from his training ? 3 army caps for the 3 jewels, torchlight for Aliff's camping needs & a handphone-recorded shooting practice ! Kesian laki aku. Dgn penuh kesungguhan he played the recorded stuff to Aqil, he was actually waiting for that boy to say, "Wah, Abah main tembak2 seh!" I just watched & lemparkan senyuman sinis. Speechless.

Its a fact which I'm managing now. Being a civil servant is no longer secured, unlike, our fathers time.

Went for Union meeting this afternoon & 1 of the leaders mentioned about the newest & most-liked trend, OUTSOURCING. She cited an example that a building in US actually outsourced its security system to an India based company. In other words, that building does not have security guards - just cameras. Sounds crazy but its true. I dont know whether I'll be able to adjust should this in-thing happens to me. Although I believe that "setiap anak ada rezeki tersendiri", I also believe that I must work hard for it. 

I do have plans to take up courses cos Mendaki is promoting SENSE & NTUC is rewarding members who takes inititatives to upgrade. Still waiting for a major decision from Arab. This man of few words commented when I told him I wanted to take up Diploma in Pre-School Teaching (DPT). He said, "awak ni betul ke nak mengajar budak2 kecik ? budak2 tengok awak, semua kecut".  But actually its true. I look arrogant, serious & fierce. Apa nak buat, dah lama sangat pegang jawatan sebagai ibu & ayah !

Today, we woke up extra early cos Arab will be reporting to Maju Camp for his final reservist training. Our friend stress giler. Lucky thing he got a friend who stays nearby & willing to 'tompang' him. Else, God knows what time this katak got to leave home!

Took 1/2 day today . brought kids & my 1-&-only niece to watch HI-5 concert at EXPO. Have planned this trip with Mashita since March (kiasu!) cos we want the BEST seats.

The show was nice but Kelly wasnt there as she's 7 months pregnant. But I think the audience lacked pre-show warm up cos there's low participation. Anyway, the kids enjoyed themselves except Ashran (Mashita's son), cos he's Mr SleepyHead today . Khalisha (niece) danced till she fell off the stairs .... oooppps! And, I didnt know Aqil can dance VERY WELL. Nabila was brave enough to go near the stage. She takes after me, brave & independent . Anyway, we spent more than $200 for this trip including tix & souvenirs! But, I'm proud of my jewels as they save up their own money for the souvenirs & I top-up every $ they save!

Went to BK for snacks then headed to mum's place to send Khalisha back. Bro drove us back tonite.

I dont know whats wrong with me these days ... I've been wanting to hold a baby so much. Ah, its just my maternal instinct i suppose.

Went to visit JJ, my colleague, who gave birth abt 2 weeks ago. Her 2nd daughter, Saba, doesnt look like a 2 weeks old baby, she looks like a 2 months old! Perhaps due to her parents genes. Mashita was hesitant abt buying her diapers, due to the expected big-size. She was right.

Later, went to a parenting seminar, "Parents Who Loves Too Much". Sounds BIG huh. Argh!!! Me & all other parents are guilty of this statement. This seminar is a wake up call but, surprisingly my scores are low which means I'm ok as compared to some parents or parents-to be that I know of. Thereafter, it helped me to wisely plan what I expect of my jewels in the years to come. Already have plans, but, amend them to be more practical & justifiable. From the very beginning, I told myself to be independent and I've achieved it at an early stage. Sounds good, but wait till u go through it.

But sometimes, its good to follow your instinct ......

I dread this day .... Cos its pap smear test day cum gynae's appt .... kalau dah penakut, penakut jugak. Even though it was less than 5 mins, I feel that it was years. My fear was unfounded, but, apparently it overshadows everything.

And guess what, I was told that I'm overweight !  Or, agaknya weighing machine tu rosak ke ? But, nurse told me not to worry. Thought of doing more beach strolling to shed some fats. Cant cycle anymore, takut tayar pancit ! Berangan jer ...
